MiR was founded by Niels Jul Jacobsen in 2013 and acquired by Teradyne Corporation in April 2018 for a total of $272 million.

Founded by Esben Østergaard, Kasper Støy, and Kristian Kassow in 2005, the company was acquired by Teradyne Corporation in May 2015 for a total of $350 million.
